Janet Hoogstraate, PhD, MBA
Chief Executive Officer
As CEO of NorthX Biologics, Janet brings a vast amount of experience to the table. Most recently coming from a position as the managing director at Valneva, Janet has also worked in preclinical R&D at Astra Pain Control, as well at various leadership positions in drug discovery and development in neuroscience. She is also a trusted board member of Mireca Medicines GmbH, Alzecure Pharma AB and APL AB. Janet has a PhD in biopharmaceutical sciences from Leiden University in the Netherlands and an EMBA from Hult International School in London.
Eva-karin Gidlund, PhD, MBA
Chief Growth Officer & Deputy CEO
Eva-karin joined NorthX Biologics in 2019 as Collaboration Development Manager and developed into Chief Alliance & Innovation Officer and deputy CEO. In 2026 she became our Chief Growth Officer. With a PhD in medicine from Karolinska Institutet and an MBA, she bridges the gap between innovation, academia, and the pharmaceutical industry. Eva-Karin drives strategic partnerships and growth, focusing on cell and gene therapies. A dynamic leader and keynote speaker, she has been featured at TEDxTalk and Bünsow Business. Her goal is to translate scientific breakthroughs into impactful industry solutions.
Ola Tuvesson
Chief Technology Officer
As CTO, Ola is leading NorthX Biologic’s development and project organization, focusing on delivering technologies and strategies to ensure high-end services within bioprocessing and analytics. He has more than 20 years’ experience from the pharma and biotech industry, ranging from early development to commercial GMP manufacturing. Ola has worked in several fields, including ATMP products, vaccines, and other biologicals. He has the essential knowledge to take a product from early pre-clinical development into clinical trials and to the market.
Johanna Magnusson
Chief Operating Officer
Johanna joined NorthX Biologics in 2025 as COO, bringing over two decades of leadership experience in life sciences operations, production, and quality management to the organization. She holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. Johanna’s previous roles include several senior leadership roles at Cytiva (formerly GE Healthcare) and mostly recently global operations leader at Cavidi.
Tomas Forsberg
Chief Quality Officer
Tomas joined NorthX Biologics in 2014 and has since held a range of roles within Quality, with 15 years in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry spanning GMP, quality systems, and regulatory compliance. He holds an MSc in Biology and has worked across biologics, ATMPs, and CDMO operations, with particular attention to risk-based quality strategies and robust quality frameworks. He leads the development of scalable quality systems that enable innovation while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and product quality
Maria Rynell
Chief Financial Officer
Maria joined NorthX Biologics in 2022 as CFO. She brings 20 years of experience in finance and controlling to the company, coming from positions as Finance Director, Group Controller and Head of Controlling at Recipharm AB and Bringwell AB. Maria has a master’s degree in accounting and finance from Stockholm University and is responsible for leading a team of multi-talented professionals working in finance, IT, HR and administration.
